On a personal note I am husband to one wife, father of two daughters and friend of many.
I didn't learn how to swim until I was 30. I broke my leg aged 16 so I can't bungee jump.
Former careers were as an accountant, software programmer and a project manager. In my spare time I was a vocalist in a six part acapella band, a performance poet and backing singer though not at the same time. I also did a short stint as a stand up comedian.
So that's me. What's your story?
My name is David McQueen. I am passionate about story telling. I speak, present, coach and build businesses all around the power of the story.
I am passionate about business and have been hooked ever since starting my first business in school aged 14. From tuckshops to event management, from bookkeeping to IT support and now running personal development companies, I still account my success to shaping a story that me, my team and ultimately my clients believe in. I have started six businesses in all and went broke when one crashed. I sit on the advisory board of a charity, a parenting group and a serious games company
As a trainer and coach, I have designed and delivered programmes on leadership, presentation skills, career management and business development.
As a conference and motivational speaker, I have travelled all over the world to speak. Speaking on four continents and to tens of thousands of people sharing stories of leadership, effective presentation and public speaking skills, business development and career management. Australasia and Antartica are the only two continents I have not spoken on. I am working on fixing that.
As a TV presenter I was the host of Pioneers TV an online channel for young entrepreneurs produced and directed by Virgin Media. One of my highlights was getting to interview Sir Richard Branson. I was also the co host for Vocation Vocation Vocation, a TV series by UK broadcaster Channel 4, aimed at helping teenagers to make decisions about their future education and careers. I still have a couple pending projects up my sleeve.
As you can see, storytelling is in my veins.
