It’s OK to have a shit day

This morning I received a call from one of my mentees.
She was not feeling 100% today.
She had lost her mojo and was not feeling inspired to do any work.

The thing is this, we have been having some engaging conversations and have been building some strategies for her professional journey for 2016 and beyond.
We have narrowed down her unique selling points and areas of expertise and we are bit by bit piecing together how she will move forward.

I told her it was ok to have a shit day.
Not every day is going to be fabulous, full of happiness, growth mindsets and meditational reflections.

As the conversation ensued we had a number of laughs on somethings we noticed on social media. Specifically to do with interests we have.

We explored the plan of action to kick things into gear.
We even discussed a moment last week when in the midst of getting things done, I couldn’t be arsed, dropped everything and just hung out with my daughters for a couple of hours and watched crap TV.

I think it is important to realise that no matter, how driven we are.
No matter what lofty goals we have for this year, month or day, sometimes we are going to have those days when we just lose the will to live or do things.

And that’s OK.
Just don’t stay in that place for too long.

So have a good day today. Or a shit one if it’s that kind of day. Permission granted.

Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end.
